Solstice

you searched for purple clouds in my heart,
rose petals and sunny meadows,
rain-washed stones - those guarding the forests,
ribbons entwining your waist, lustful solstice nights,
hair tangled with wheat and grass.

you searched for a starry spiderwebs - a sky full of wonders,
and I filled you with sweet pain,
monsteries at my side; and many-eyed forests [ the eyes that see the soul ],
bones and roots crackling under my boots.

I am your lover and your nightmare,
I offer you rose petals - and their thorns,
rain-washed stones and what lies beneath the earth,
ribbons bounding your body - surrendered to my spell
a vernal equinox - and mabon raining blood.

while you dance surrounded by greenery and dew,
I lay the entire underworld at your feet.
